OUR LAND is a feature documentary about our relationship to the land in the UK. The film aims to open up the conversation around  the environment, conservation and access giving voice to those who live, breathe and care about it passionately.

The film is still in production and has so far been funded by BFI Doc society and Uncertain Kingdom

Another News Story goes behind the scenes of the global news crews as they chase the refugee story across Europe at the height of the crisis. A riveting insight into the human story of a lone Syrian mother's journey juxtaposed against the unraveling and chaotic news story which held the world captive in 2015. It inspires you to re-evaluate our relationship with global media & how we consume news.

A cinematic and powerful feature debut by director Orban Wallace, which premiered in competition at the prestigious Karlov Vary Film festival, Zurich and IDFA, before playing over 30 film festivals worldwide and being shortlisted for the best international feature at the 2018 Grierson documentary awards. The film had a small theatrical release before it was internationally distributed.

An intimate story of a 9-year-old girl called Eve, growing up in the oldest off-grid community in the UK. The story charts her internal dialogue as she returns to school after a year of being outside of education and how this impacts her identity and priorities. Simultaneously, Eve is becoming aware of the state of the world and questioning where we go from here with her generation at the helm.

A BFI Doc society-funded documentary, with directors Joya Berrow & Lucy Jane. The film was premiered on The Guardian documentary channel where it has found its home alongside the online streaming platform Waterbear. The film has enjoyed a good festival run, winning the environmental award at the Kendal Mountain Festival.

A journey into the heart of the Irish Traveller community, to record the lost songs of the road and find the last of the fireside singers.

 

James McDonald is a modern-day song collector and has spent years seeking out the oldest surviving Travellers to find the ‘old’ songs before they disappear. This film will chart his return to Ireland to hunt down the last of the old singers, in a journey, which will take him deeper than he has been before into the Traveller community. James knows time is running out before the last of the singers fade into memory taking with them their songs.

In this short documentary, we followed two exciting ventures with the Victoria and Albert Museum reusing and upcycling their excess waste from exhibitions. Spearheaded by Patty O'Furniture we worked alongside the 999 Club and Participatory City to capture their initiatives which gave people the opportunity to team up with carpenters to learn the skills to build bespoke furniture, working with the excess waste from the V&A, which were both displayed in public exhibitions. The film was Exhibited in the V&A and online. I directed, shot and edited the film.

A short documentary following the story of Jacob, who decides to sell everything he owns and start a holistic retreat in ancient woodland. He is teh founder of OHM-BRELLA and has lot fo plans for rewilding the woodland and taking people on the healing journey he has taken himself.

A short immersive documentary that takes you into the woods at spring with artist Cosmo Sheldrake. Working with his own field recordings of the dawn and evening chorus, he talks us through his process of interpreting these sounds into music and playing them back to the places he recorded them. Filmed amid the national lockdown and released for Earth Day.

A short documentary about the musician Colin Macleod and the inspiration behind his new album. Shot on the Isle of Lewis where he grew up the film explores how the island has inspired his songwriting and life. Commissioned by Redbull the film was accompanied by a live session music video with the band recorded on the ferry, an old weaving factory, and the top of a cliff.

I developed and directed the official 2019 Wilderness aftermovie for Deadbeat Fims. Working with a dancer from the Rambert school of dance I created a concept piece for the festival, choreographing her interpretative dance throughout. I worked with a large team directing 4 camera units including the aerial drone unit and super 8 film team, I also edit produced and did first edit passes on the film.

Developed concept alongside spoken word poet Amy Brandwyn, for the BLOODY GOOD PERIOD charity for International womans day. Working with a troop of movement performers we produced this satirical piece on Periods.

In a land before time... Caveman concept video for the 2017 Meadows in the Mountains festival after the movie, I conceived and directed working alongside production designer Luke Moran Morris. The film follows the journey of a caveman who lives deep in The Rhodopian mountains discovering the festival and immersing himself in this strange new world, before bringing back some stragglers to his fellow cavemen.

Over the years I have been working alongside Ruben Woodin Dechamps producing live sessions for multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake. Our journey started in a laundrette in Brighton for Cosmo's first release, our concept being for Cosmo to perform live in everyday scenarios, the films capturing both his performance and the environment. We have since made films on a fishing trawler off Hastings, a pigsty in Sussex, a horse and cart in the Bulgarian mountains, a model village in Buckinghamshire, a hot air balloon festival in Catalonia, a cider pressing day in Devon and precariously on a plank in the Budapest baths. The films have been awarded Vimeo staff picks and have been featured in many artists blogs.

As XR was building momentum in 2019 thousand took to the streets in a two-week protest for teh environment. Wanting to help, alongside fellow filmmakers we set ourselves the task of making a 24hr film project to help XR's movement. Conceived, shot, edit and released in a day, the film was taken on by XR and had thousands of views.

Working alongside the production company Deadbeat Films, I conceived and developed the after-movie visual style and approach. Part, music festival, part development launch, turning tides was a 4-day cultural event. Working with drones, timelapse, and gimbal operators, we took a fluid approach to the film.

Music Video for EL Mago - Gigantes from the Berlin Label YNFND - Taking this often dark and mysterious tune into a fantastical world of nostalgia and memory in this disturbing love story.  Premiered on KALT BLUT the German fashion magazine. It was an improvised low-budget shoot made in the height of lockdown, pretty much myself and my camera, and our collective weird minds.

Four DJs from different backgrounds, dubbed The Cultural Crusaders, came together to extend a message of acceptance and freedom of expression at Absolut and Elrow's debut festival, The Gardenarium. I developed the concept and script alongside Deadbeat films and directed the video and multiple social edits. The film was used to promote diversity in the industry.
